Did you know?!
  • Lunar and Chinese New Year are a 15-day celebration bringing family and friends together to celebrate and wish for prosperity, joy, and good fortune for the new year.
  • 20% of the world celebrates Lunar New Year, (that is approximately 1,500,000,000 people!), in China (where it is called Chinese New Year) and outside of China (where it is called Lunar New Year in Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malasia, and others).
  • There is never a set date for the festival, and it is based off of the lunar calendar.
  • Also referred to as Spring Festival.

Did you know?!

  • Carnival started as a festival to celebrate spring in ancient Egypt, and then was adopted by the Greeks and Romans. It eventually became intertwined with Christianity, prior to the fasting of lent.
  • Carnival is celebrated in more than 50 countries on three continents: Europe, South America, and North America.
  • It is considered a worldwide party packed with cultural traditions.
  • Rio de Janeiro's Carnival is recorded as the largest carnival in the world as per Guiness Book of World Records.
