Welcome to the AXIS Run Club!

OVERVIEW OF AXIS RUN CLUB

The AXIS Run Club is open to Kindergarten-5th grade students. The goal of the AXIS Run Club is to promote healthy lifestyles and physical activity. We want to encourage children to have fun while running!

Dates: Thursday’s 3:25-4:25pm, starting March 24 and ending May 19.

Groups: We have two running groups to join from

AXIS Run for Fun Group: This group is open to all grades, Kindergarten-5th. This group will run laps and play active games in the field.
AXIS 5K Group: Students ages 8+ who are eager to train for a 5K race (3.1 miles) are welcome to join this group. If a younger student (6-7 years old) wants to join, a parent must accompany them each time. This group will be running offsite on the Spring Canyon Trail.

Location:

Run for Fun Students will run and play games inside the fenced-in AXIS field.
AXIS 5K Runners will run offsite along the neighborhood to Spring Canyon Trail

Cost: The fee is $25 for the session and includes a T-shirt and running incentives (scholarships available by request). Payment can be made via cash or check (made out to AXIS International Academy) in the front office.

AXIS RUN CLUB RULES

Be Responsible (use bathroom after school, bring a water bottle, wear running shoes and comfortable clothes)
Be Respectful (show respect by listening to the coaches, following directions, and participating)

RUN CLUB SCHEDULE:

3:20-3:30: Bathroom and changing clothes (if necessary)

3:30-3:45pm: Warm-up (all AXIS Run Club students)

3:45-4:15pm: AXIS 5K-ers will depart from field for their scheduled training run

3:45-4:15pm: AXIS Run for Fun will remain in field for laps and games

4:15-4:25: All AXIS Runners meet back at field for rest, water and snack

4:25pm: Parents to pick students up from the field. All students MUST BE SIGNED OUT. (If student will be participating in After Care, this must be listed on their Procare schedule). Students not picked up by 4:35pm will be checked into after care.

***Running Club will be canceled for rain /lightning

***Students need PE shoes, comfortable clothes (feel free to send your students with running clothes if you'd like), and a water bottle.
