In honor of National Book Month, get ready for AXIS’ first Book Character Parade.

When – October 28th (parade starts at 2:45 PM)
Who – all children in PreK through 5th grade will be the stars. Family members are invited to
watch the parade
What – at school, kids will create a hat to represent their favorite storybook character. At the
end of the day, parents will be invited to join us to see the kids parade around school
grounds in their awesome hats.

Details -
• The story may be fictional or non-fictional (nothing scary)
• Students are allowed to bring full costumes to go along with their hats
• Students are encouraged to bring their favorite book with them to share with their
classmates
• Check out SAC’s volunteering page, there are lots of opportunities to help for this even

NOTE: The Book Character Parade on Friday the 28th will take the place of any dress
up/celebrations on Monday, October 31 (Halloween). Monday, October 31 will be a
typical day for students, including following the standard dress code. Please do not
send your student in costume on the 31st
