This video gives an overview of our drop off and pick up procedures at AXIS.

hello everyone and welcome to the axis orientation Series in this video we're focusing on 1 of the most important parts of our school day drop off and pick up we will discuss procedures for the 2025 202 26 school year let's walk through what to expect and how to make this process smooth and safe for All Families arriving at school our school day starts promptly at 8:00 a.m. drop off runs from 7:45 to 7:55 a.m. if you arrive after that window you will need to walk your child into the building and sign them in at the front office we want to avoid any delays in learning so please aim to arrive on time families have 3 options for completing drop off at access drive line also called kid to curb Park and walk and biking drop off at the East Gate let's talk about drive line You'll enter by turning right from lame into our parking lot you can also turn left from lame into that southernmost entrance for bar parking lot that we recommend a right turn please follow the full route of this orange line no shortcuts please we've had near accidents when people try to skip ahead or cut across the parking lot please remember that feather Grass Drive is a public street so stay alert for neighborhood traffic watch for Access staff at the stop sign and the crosswalk always follow their signals after you start stopped at the stop sign and it is your turn to pull forward into the loading Loop go all the way forward our staff will guide you we typically fit 8 to 10 cars inside the loading Loop so we need everybody to follow staff instruction your child should exit your vehicle from the right side only so that they do not open a car door into traffic please do not exit the vehicle our staff will assist students if your Cloud uses a car seat or booster it should be installed on the right hand side to participate in Drive Line so this is the Dr Lane kid to curb Readiness check drive line is only for kindergarten through fifth grade students Pre-K students may not use the kid to curb Drive Line before deciding to use kid to curb for kindergarten through fifth grade students please ask yourself can my child Buckle or unbuckle quickly can they open the car door mostly by themselves can they say goodbye without a lengthy ritual if the answer to any of these questions is not a definite yes then Park and walk might be a better fit for your family so let's talk about parking walk parking walk Paul is the same entrance pattern as the kid to Driveline be prepared to yield to traffic entering the loading Loop and to watch at the stop sign for staff members holding you while that traffic goes through to the Loading Loop in those blue Park spots there are some handicap spaces those may be used for drop off and an adult must accompany a child across the crosswalk for parking walk for preschool and Pre-K students families must walk to the east facing cafeteria doors and check them in using the kangaroo Time app this ensures every student is safely accounted for you can see the yellow dotted line and a star that showed the path and door location for preschool and Pre-K drop off plenty of kindergarten through fifth grade students also participate in park and walk those families and students will follow the teal dotted line and enter through the front door marked by the teal star some reminders for Park and walk please watch for families walking across the lot as you are parking your vehicle pay attention for stop signs and all crossing guard instructions students must be accompanied across the crosswalk by an adult during our first week of school families are welcome to walk their students into the school and up to their classroom door however after that first week of school we our policy says families should say goodbye at the door this keeps the flow moving as we move almost 300 students into a rather compact building we also welcome families who biked to school students in grades K through 5 can independently Park and lock bikes at the East Gate where the yellow star is the red arrow shows a gate that will be open each morning where you can arrive and that gate does close as that is where we have recess during the day so that gate will close after 8 oclock each day uh parents biking with younger students can also come to that yellow star lean their bike up and drop students off at the cafeteria entrance a pickup procedures pickup follows the same traffic patterns and parking procedures as drop off our staff will be out in the parking lot and along the loading Loop to help facilitate student departures at our sweet start to school social you'll receive your family's unique pickup pin this 3- digit number is essential for afternoon pickup drive line or kid to curb users should place the pin placard your family receives in their car window staff will be in the parking lot taking those numbers down and using it with our dismissal app Park and walk users should have their PIN handy we strongly recommend taking a picture of your PIN placard and storing it in your phone you can also send it to any other trusted caregivers such as nannies grandparents anyone who will be assisting with pickup if you arrive to pick up without a PIN you will need to check in at the main office so that we can verify identity and make sure that you are on the approved pickup list for a student we use the pin with our dismissal software which ensures that students leave school with the correct adult please only share your PIN with trusted caregivers or family members who will be picking up for a student pickup runs from 3 to 3:15 p.m. daily alphabest or axis and Rich will be escorted to their after school activities by their classroom teachers students who aren't signed up for any after-school programs and who aren't picked up on time will be taken to the main office and their parents will be contacted if you are running late or there is an emergency please proactively call the front office we'll make sure your child is safe and supervised some general safety reminders remember the children are unpredictable and drive accordingly safety is the most important part of our pickup and drop off procedures please keep interactions with other adults cordial in the parking lot and extend Grace for mistakes or drive line hold our students are always watching what we model there are many moving pieces to making sure all students enter the school promptly and safely and we appreciate your patience especially during these first few weeks of school at if you ever have a parking pickup or drop off concern please
