Message from Preschool Assistant Director:
This week in the All About Me Domain, we are learning about human basic needs: Food, Water, Sleep, and Shelter. We have been discussing how people stay healthy: Exercise, Rest, Healthy Foods, and practicing good Hygiene. We compared eye colors in the classroom to see the diversity in our rooms and displayed the chart so we can count the numbers on our own!
In art this week, we learned about Frida Kahlo and made vibrant coloring pages. Music has been teaching us about tones and rhythms, while continuing our farm unit with cows this week! During physical education, we have been moving our bodies and getting our exercise in; We especially enjoy races!
Be sure to ask your student some of these key prompts this week:
- What is a healthy food? What is an unhealthy food?
- Do you know Pat a Cake? Can you do it with me?
- What color eyes do you have? Can you name a friend with brown eyes?
- What is your favorite exercise?
We have several new reminders below, please let me know if you have any questions!

Important Reminders:
Drop Off and Pick Up:
Drop off ENDS at 8:10am. If you arrive after 8:10am, please check in at the front office.
Pick up ENDS at 3:20pm. If you arrive after 3:20pm, please call the Axis phone number on the aftercare door or check the front office.
Fall Weather:
We are starting to feel the colder fall weather this week; Please send your student with appropriate clothes/shoes for the weather, including an extra set of clothes/shoes. We can also keep a school sweater or coat in their cubby for the week.
Water Bottles:
Please make sure to send a labeled water bottle each day for your student. Water bottles should be taken home each day to minimize the spread of germs.
Folders:
Please take home your students' folder on their last day of the week (Thursday or Friday) and return it their first day of the following week.
Newsletter:
Newsletters will start to be sent our every other week. You can expect to see the next newsletter October 7th 2021.

Message from Preschool Director:
Dear Preschool Parents,
Thank you for an incredible two weeks of school! We are so grateful to have so many sweet, bright, and hilarious students with us this year.
Our preschool has doubled since last school year, and I personally feel confident we are walking into our Golden Era. Megan, Ellen, Joseph, and Dana are highly qualified and deeply passionate about early childhood education and care. The entire staff already adores your little students, and I cannot wait to see what this year holds for all of us!

Important Reminders:
Sign In and Out via Procare
All persons regularly drop off and/or picking up students from Preschool MUST sign in/out via Procare. It is a state licensing requirement and crucial for all families.
- Parents sign in and out via the Procare Mobile app
- If you are on the AXIS Campus, Procare geofence will allow you to sign in/out- even from the parking lot!
- If you are unable to sign in via your mobile device, please ask a teacher to sign in via the "Parent Kiosk"
- Authorized Pick Ups sign in and out with their 4-digit code via a teacher's device
- Individual codes for authorized persons are available within the Procare app
Take Home Folders
Student folders go home on the last day of their week (Thursday or Friday). Please check your student's folder for work from their week in both English and Partner Language, notes from teachers, and things they've made just for you. Folders should be returned on their first day back to school the following week.
Communication with Preschool Staff
Parents/guardians are encouraged to connect directly with your student's teacher for any concerns, questions, or needs. Always feel free to carbon copy (cc) Morgan on the email to ensure a steady streamline of information through staff and families. If your teacher does not have an answer for you, they will connect you with leadership immediately.
